Our Story

Power to Run was born from a simple but heartbreaking reality: the support systems designed to help women rebuild after abuse, trauma, addiction within the home, and crisis situations often leave critical gaps during the very time support is needed most.

Too often, women are told to "just leave" without anyone addressing what comes next. They are left to navigate emotional trauma, financial instability, housing insecurity, legal battles, childcare challenges, career setbacks, and the overwhelming weight of rebuilding an entire life from the ground up. The truth is that leaving is not the finish line—it is often the beginning of the hardest chapter.

At Power to Run, we believe there is a missing bridge between survival and independence.

Our mission is to help close the gaps in a broken system by providing support that does not currently exist in one place—a comprehensive, community-driven approach that walks alongside women during their first year of rebuilding. Through partnerships, resources, financial assistance, mentorship, trauma-informed support, career development, community events, and long-term stabilization efforts, we aim to provide the tools, guidance, and encouragement needed to help women move from crisis to confidence.

We are building more than programs. We are building a movement that transforms isolation into community, fear into hope, and survival into lasting independence.

Power to Run is rooted in the belief that cycles can be broken when people are given the right support at the right time. Every event we host, every partnership we create, and every resource we provide is designed to create tangible change—not just for one woman, but for her children, her future, and generations to come.

Our vision is to become the bridge that helps women reclaim their lives with dignity, stability, and purpose while creating lasting change in communities across East Texas and beyond.

Because real healing requires more than escaping a difficult situation. It requires support, opportunity, community, and a pathway forward.

That pathway is what we're building.
